Heart – Who Will You Run To (Music Video)

Published on June 7, 2018

Who Will You Run To” is a song recorded by American rock band Heart. It was composed by Diane Warren and released as the second single from Heart’s ninth studio album Bad Animals. It is an uptempo rock number in which singer Ann Wilson warns a departing lover that there will be no one else who could care for and support him in the way that she has.

“Who Will You Run To” is one of a long list of hit songs written by Warren, who is one of the most prolific and successful songwriters of the 1980s and 1990s. Heart’s version of her song became the band’s eighth U.S. top-ten single, peaking at number seven.

It also climbed to number thirty in the UK Singles Chart, where it was also available as a 12″ single, and also as Heart’s first UK CD single release, featuring an extended ‘rock’ version, running at 5:05.

It was covered and released as a single by American Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell.

The music video to the song featured the animal logos from the Bad Animals album cover.

Bad Animals is the ninth studio album by the American rock band Heart, released in 1987 through Capitol Records. The album continues the mainstream hard rock style from the band’s 1985 self-titled release, all while enjoying similar success. RIAA certification as of 1992 is three times platinum, indicating sales in excess of three million copies in the US alone. The album reached No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart in August 1987. Bad Animals contained the number one hit single “Alone”, while “Who Will You Run To” reached No. 7, “There’s the Girl” reached No. 12, and “I Want You So Bad” reached No. 49. The album is notable for containing only a few tracks with writing contributions from lead members Ann and Nancy Wilson. It received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
